Our interdisciplinary team of UVA undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and faculty are working to adapt hydropower system designs for a decarbonizing grid as part of the DOE Hydropower Collegiate Competition. We seek to adapt hydropower operations to meet the needs of a more sustainable grid reliant on renewable, but variable energy sources, while balancing other social, environmental, and economic water resources management goals.
